Designed in the round, it represents Adam supporting an enormous egg on the ellipse of which Eve stretches lasciviously. Between the two sits a woman holding her children in her arms, while a man is leaning over her. The osmosis is so deep between the protagonists of this scene, carried by a dove, that the two adult heads are one, and those of the children are the breasts of the mother. Intimately welded and prolonging each other in evidence, these characters are perfectly smooth; every muscle, every limb deeply incised, so as to stand out from far away. By contrast, the egg remained raw, weathered; the blows of the chisel, the accidents of the stone have been left in evidence, as if reflecting the passage of time both on the material and the body of the sculptor who, carried away by illness, could not put his name on this paradoxical Creation, placed on the plain as his last signature, "La Création" by Salvatore Gallo is permanently visible on the rest area of VILLENEUVE - L'ARCHEVÊQUE (Yonne), along the A5 motorway.
